Dear customers,
A new edition of our special SEO newsletter. Today, we’re talking about SEO tags, and more specifically title tags and meta descriptions (meta tags).

ℹ️ The prerequisite before implementing this newsletter’s tips: having your list of SEO keywords (which we built last month 😉)
🏷️ Title tags: convincing Google AND your audience 🏷️
The purpose of title tags: to give search engines and internet users a concise overview of the topic covered on the web page.
🔎 Where are they shown? On search engine results pages (and at the top of your browser when a web page is open):

| ⚡️ What you need to remember: Catchy, effectively optimized title tags can improve your ranking in search results and, at the same time, the click-through rate to your site. |
💡 Tips for optimizing your title tags:
✔️ Include your main keyword, ideally at the beginning of the tag
✔️ Keep the length between 55 and 65 characters to avoid them being cut off in search results
✔️ Skip generic titles: be descriptive and meet your audience’s expectations
✔️ Write unique title tags for each of your pages
✔️ Want to include your company’s name? Add it at the end of the tag instead
🎯 Meta descriptions: winning over your audience (even more) 🎯
The purpose of meta descriptions: to encourage clicks! While meta descriptions don’t directly affect your pages’ ranking in search results, they play a big role in attracting users to your site.
🔎 Where are they shown? On search engine results pages, below the title tags:

| ⚡️ What you need to remember: Carefully crafted and optimized meta descriptions help encourage your audience to explore your content. And the higher your click-through rate, the more relevant Google considers your site to be. |
💡 Tips for writing appealing meta descriptions:
✔️ Use relevant keywords and long-tail keywords in your descriptions to connect with users’ search queries
✔️ Keep the length between 150 and 160 characters so they display fully in search results
✔️ Write unique descriptions for each page
✔️ Grab attention with impactful, distinctive copy (consider using a call to action, for example)
Note: sometimes, Google decides to display a different meta description than the one you provided for your page. In plain terms, this means your tag isn’t relevant enough in its view. If that’s the case, rework it!
We hope these tips on tags will help you improve your ranking in search results. Don’t hesitate to put them into practice and share your ranking progress with us!
